Our Institute has been working very hard to promote and preserve the Classic traditional Music of the district Kalimpong, Darjeeling and adjoining areas, which has continuously been neglected since a very long period of time. The district of Kalimpong and Darjeeling also have a very rich culture but our region has always been overlooked and unnoticed. This region belongs to West Bengal and does not get any governmental support or any kind of financial assistance in the field of Folk Art and Culture.

There are many interested students who belong to very poor families, you can watch the pictures of the students in the slide show above. They have lot of interests in their hearts but unfortunately, the children are not able to learn, their own Folk Music and Culture due to no proper financial assistance from the local governmental organisations. There are numerous children belonging to the below poverty line who are not able to purchase their own instrument neither can afford to pay their fees for proper training.

We have established our own library and have invested a lot of our personal income in establishing the institution. We have also invested a huge amount of money to provide their drums to practice in the class but now it is extremely hard to manage all the expenses from our own pocket. After the pandemic we are not able to maintain the expenditure. The Folk drum for the children are in poor condition and needs to be repaired as soon as possible. We would like to repair the Folk drums and start the regular classes for the deserving poor children who want to learn and preserve the traditional Folk Music of our community. The music of this region is degrading day by day and can be soon founded in Museums and old recordings, if it is not handled by prominent organisations.  Unfortunately, we did not get help from any governmental organisations and we have planned to start charity and need help from kind and generous people like you so that we can improve our financial status for repairing the instruments and also start a sound class to preserve our dying art form.
