The album "Bols and Rhythms from Vivekananda" features 34 outdated compositions in 5 different Taals. Released in 2014, it is the top-selling album produced by the Institute of Culture, Ramakrishna Mission, Golpark, Kolkata.
The global audience has praised the remarkable work of the artist. Nishaant Singh has devoted his life to learning and promoting these rare compositions from Swami Vivekananda's book "Sangeet Kalpataru." Swami ji belonged to the Lala Keval Kishan Gharana-Bengal Parampara. The artist is striving to preserve and promote this unique art form under the guidance of the sole inheritor of this legacy, Pandit Chanchal Kumar Bhattacharya.
When examining "Sangeet Kalpataru," Swamiji initiated the Bol Baani section with Choutaal Theka and Fifty-one Bol Parans. Other Taalas like Surfaktaal, Dhamaar, Aadachoutaal, Aadaa Taal, TriTaali, EkTaal, Tiwat Taal, and Jhanptaal are also included. These Bol Parans were compiled from various Taals and recorded in an audio album by the Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture, Golpark, Kolkata in 2014. Dr. Sarbananda Chaudhuri re-edited the book in 2000 and took an interest in extracting the Bol Parans to share them in an audio format, allowing people to hear the extinct Bol Parans of the Lala Keval Kishan Gharana that Swami ji learned from his Guru Mridangacharya Murari Mohan Gupta.
All 5 audio tracks are exceptionally rare, with tracks 4 and 5 being considered obsolete today. The compositions in these tracks are at risk of extinction and have only been preserved by.
